The spiritual life does have its practical moments. In II Timothy 4, Paul writes that he wants Timothy to pick up a coat he left in Troas with Carpus. His books and papers are also requested.

Through all of this one sees all the spiritual relationships, daily thoughts, and upcoming hopes that surrounds a spiritual life. Paul’s surrender to Christ’s work is expressed through his thoughts in his letters. Friends are spoken of, news is given, and desires are requested.

The spiritual life is of action, and of mind-set, and it has it practical side.
