When we wait for the counsel of the LORD, we do a good thing. As an example, there were the Israelites who forgot what the LORD had done in the wilderness. Soon they were raising the golden calf as their god. Consulting GOD would have given them the advice not to raise the golden calf in the first place.

As Christians today, do we wait on GOD’s counsel and advice, or do we not include GOD in all things we do or seek? In today’s hectic world, it is easy to leave GOD outside and not seek HIS counsel in prayer and in the Word.

In Psalms 106:13 and following, the Psalmist relates how the Israelites were forgetting GOD, not waiting for HIS counsel, and the results. The results were that their “desires ran wild.”

Even as Christians, we can be tempted in many ways – some even admirable. Yet, without GOD’s counsel, we will “run wild.” Is your Christian life advised by GOD and HIS peace or are you running wild?
